Tesla has announced the Model Y performance, which is available in Europe, starting in September.
Model Y performance is now out in Europe after Tesla teased a Friday announcement earlier this week. The teaser went out of Tesla’s Europe/Middle East account, but the release seems to be only in Europe for now.
Tesla updated its European configurator today with the new model Y performance along with details of what kind of upgrades the car gets over the other trim levels in Model Y.
The basic heading state is that the performance model brings 0-100 km/h (0-62 km/h) times down from 4.8 to 3.5 seconds, quite quite jump (or 3.3 seconds for 0-60 mph). This is thanks to the increased 460 hp available on Model Y performance.
The higher level of horsepower does not appear to affect efficiency to a great extent, as the car is still capable of 580 km (360 mi) range on the WLTP cycle -which remembers is more mild than the EPA cycle. Nor has it lost much charging speed, according to Tesla, with the ability to add 243 km (151 mi) range of 15 minutes – a better measure of efficiency, given Tesla no longer specifies its battery capacity. Although it says it uses “new, high -voltage batteries.”

But the performance upgrade is not only more horsepower and better 0-60 times, there is some other design, interior and performance touch.
The Performance model comes with 21 ″ “Arachnid 2.0” wheels, a new wheel design along with redesigned front and rear bumper that looks more aggressive and less flat.
On the inside, Tesla has added Performance Badging, reminiscent of the “Plaid” theme it has used on other performance vehicles, and has increased the size of the front touch screen (from 15.4 to 16 inches) with higher resolution to start.
The front seats get an improvement with adjustable thigh extensions for those with particularly long legs.

With regard to services for services, Tesla added updated suspension to Model Y performance with electronic damper. We saw this on the recent model YL, which was praised for his driving dynamics, despite being full of 6 adult passengers.
Model Y performance includes a new condition that Tesla calls “Stability Assistant Mode,” as it says, allows drivers to “customize your traction and control. Choose between standard, reduced or off to give your vehicle more or less traction according to your driving style and terrain.”

This Sounds Like a performance setting of the car’s stability control systems – stability control can use brakes on individual wheels to help correct over/understeer, but may get in the way in performance applications.
There may be other performance-related options in there, but Tesla doesn’t tell us about them yet-Blot refer to them as “Drive States.”
While no one has got the hands of the Model Y performance for a driving review yet (though it appears to be parked in some showrooms), the Model 3 performance earned the immediate rave reviews from most of those who drove it. It is quite the performance package and there is virtually nothing out there with the same kind of specifications offered at the price, gas or electric (although I personally prefer cars rear wheel drive and were a little disappointed with the slightly slower control holder after the Highland update).
So if the Chunkier Model Y performance can show similar dynamics such as Teslas Sport Sedan, it will be interesting to see how it does against them as Ioniq 5n and such. Not that any SUV ever is Indeed A benefit vehicle, but an EV-SUVS LOW MIDDLE OF EV SUV can at least make it feel relatively sporty.
As for whether or when we get this model in the United States: Model Y Performance release similar to how Model 3 Highland and Model Y -Einer updates were released, each one hitting Europe first before North America. However, the Model 3 performance did not receive the same treatment, so it is interesting to see Europe get the performance model first in this case. We will have to see if a North American model Y performance is imminent or whether it could take a few months, as Highland and Juniper did. Keep an eye on.
Model Y performance starts sending in September and starts at € 62K (~ $ 73K) in Germany, with local prices that vary from country to country but generally staying somewhere in this interval. Go on to the Teslas Website to check the prices of your territory (change regions/language on the upper right of the site).

Here’s the question: Can this help reverse the negative momentum that Tesla has in Europe?
Despite the EV sales waving all over Europe, Tesla Sales falls by falling, and the reason for decline is almost exclusively due to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, which destroys Tesla’s brand and makes it more difficult for Tesla to do business.
Sales are only up to a few European countries – like Norway, where we imagine this model will be plenty of popular enough. And model Y Juniper update released at the beginning of this year has not stopped the bleeding (actually started the bleeding right when it was released in January … but it was probably less due to the car itself and more due to Musk’s unambiguous Nazi greetings).
A new, whiz-bang, more expensive model is likely to help with margins and will allow some people to forget the stains that Musk has brought to Tesla’s reputation. It may even be the BUL that Tesla needs to turn the quarter that ends in a month, given Tesla, said the performance model YS will be available by the end of September (where there is also likely to be a sales increase in the United States due to the upcoming end of federal tax credits, an end, as Musk himself stupidly activated).
But to stop a reduction in sales, you need to bring in basic consumers, not the relatively fewer high-end. We very much doubt that the reason for Tesla’s decline in the last 7 months was due to the lack of a performance model – so this can help a little, but the deeper question is Tesla’s bad CEO.
Nevertheless, if you are one of those who can look past Musk’s actions (I can’t), feel free to use our referral code.
