A long time Tesla Engineer announced her departure from the company and quoted Elon Musk as the primary reason for quitting. In his public exit letter, he decided to postpone CEO’s betrayal with Tesla’s mission.
Giorgio Balestrieri spent the last 8 years at Tesla.
He spent most of his time as a data analyst in the energy storage department and then as an algorithm engineer who worked on AutoDidder, Tesla’s real -time trade and control platform for energy assets.
During his term of office, Balestrieri helped to accelerate the implementation of energy storage from his infant to its current status as a significant piece of the energy transfers.
Today he announced his departure from Tesla.
In an output letter published on LinkedIn, Balestrieri thanked his colleagues and congratulated them with all the progress they made together over the years.
In the letter, the engineer was not shy to indicate the “main reason” why he raised: Elon Musk.
Balestrieri explained that he believes that CEO has failed Tesla’s mission:
All of this is said, I need to tackle the elephant in space: The main reason I leave is that I think Elon has treated tremendous damage to Tesla’s mission (and to democratic institutions in several countries). In addition, Elon’s leadership and decision -making seem severely compromised. Given his huge (and growing, inexplicable) share in Tesla, I can’t convince myself anymore that this is the right place to be. This is not just about politics: It’s about lying to the public, manipulating public discourse, targeting minorities and supporting climate change and political forces in line with the oil and gas industry. I think it is pretty undeniable that the current US administration is slowing the energy transition. Unfortunately, speed is critical if we are to avert the worst consequences of climate change.

Good for him. I share the mood.
I don’t blame anyone working on Tesla. Like Balestrieri, you can have a meaningful job in Tesla that still contributes to the mission to accelerate the world’s transition to a sustainable economy.
However, it can be frustrating when the CEO takes clear actions against the mission on a large scale, such as financing climate -changing politicians implementing policies that are now slowing down the postponing energy and the electrical transport transition.
For many people who joined Tesla for the mission, apparently as balestrier, it can feel counterproductive.
I think it is clear that it contributes to the significant talent immigration we have seen at Tesla for the past two years.
Musk’s leadership is not what it used to be.
