Tesla’s new model YL may not come to the United States, said CEO Elon Musk this morning.
It’s a miss of the opportunity and I’m not the only one who feels like that.
In the past, I personally wrote a handful of articles about what Tesla owners have wanted in the US: a full-size SUV or at least a vehicle larger than the model Y, but less of a crossover than Model X.
Tesla is missing a type of vehicle in its set -up and fans will have it quickly
The only thing Tesla has announced that even a little match this kind of idea is Robovan, which is optimistic several years free because it lacks a steering wheel and pedal and requires full self -driving to be fully autonomous.
Even if Tesla launches FSD next year, it will take a year or two to find out, go through regulatory obstacles with EPA and eventually go into mass production for customers.
Model YL has a number of major changes that would be advantageous for the US market, including a longer wheelbase, more comfortable seats, a third row that appears to be more spacious than Tesla’s six-seat model Y, which the previously offered, B-Pillar Vents for rear passengers and more.
However, Musk said it will not come to the United States until next year and that “maybe not ever, given the emergence of self -driving in America.”
This variant of Model Y will not start production in the US until the end of next year.
Maybe never, given the emergence of self -driving in America.

To be blunt, I’m not sure if I really think Musk thinks the model YL is not coming to the United States, some think he said this to not Osborne Effect Model Y -SALE here, which seems more likely than anything else.
Tesla Model YL becomes disappointing far production date in the US
People have bought model Y for two years more than any other car in the world. To act as if many families would not appreciate that the extra space seems very strange; A big complaint with the model Y is that it simply does not fit larger families.
If you have four children, you will be forced into Model X, which may be too expensive for some families as it starts at $ 79,990.
While Tesla’s focus is arguably on autonomy, it’s important to remember some People are still really enjoying the action of driving their cars. Tesla has worked very hard to create a fun and sporty driving experience, especially in the new model Y. Many consumers, including myself, like to take advantage of it.
Autonomy eventually takes over human driving completely, but in the short term it does not appear to be the case. Even if anyone was interested in never driving again, this longer and more spacious model YL would be an ideal opportunity for American families who need space for at least six passengers.
Many big names in the Tesla community share this feeling:
I’m a little surprised at this.
I think the model YL would sell extremely well in North America, even with the emergence of self -driving. Americans love their bigger SUVs. Larger families here want the model y L. North America is needed for larger allelektric SUVs on a … https://t.co/v7d1ipcnet

More than likely, Musk does not want to advertise a more attractive option than the current Model Y, as many consumers would probably wait a year or two in an attempt to have more space.
In all honesty, I see the model YL come to the United States as it really fits the bill as an ideal car for the modern American family.
