Shelter rescues rabbits and birds from hamstring situation you helped

While cats and dogs make up the brother party of pets that end up in shelters every year, other animals often need care and you helped a rescue to give dozens of them this year!

Houston Humane Society says it reached a family who needed help with veterinary care and pet supplies when they learned that they had more than 50 rabbits. Overwhelming gave the family gradually rescue 34 of these rabbits, 12 of which were pregnant. Thanks to your clicks, trivia participation, shopping for a case and direct donations, we worked with our partner greater good charities to help deliver supplies that enabled them to focus on the vet for all these babies, mothers and other adults.

Houston Humane says: “Our teams gave urgent medical treatment to new mothers to be while they got the rest of the batch-throwing. These sweet rabbits became favorites and many of them found loving new homes. We still receive rabbits through various rescue efforts and thanks to your generosity we are able to nurture them.”


Send a care package to a pet pet


The rescue also had three frightened birds for their care earlier this year. Pineapple, Bo and Papaya were saved from a hamstring case, and the environment had taken a toll on them. They were extremely scared of human touch and did not trust humans, which was difficult for the staff because the birds had broken beak and overwested nails to be addressed quickly.
