New Mexican restaurant to open at The Dolphin in Poole

Fast casual dining chain and Bournemouth based startup Loco Lime joins The Dolphin Street Food destination.

The company will bring tantalizing Mexican flavors with a tantalizing selection of birria tacos, burritos and burrito rice bowls.

Dolphin Street Food is already home to Chuck and Blade, Noodlebar and Wraps ‘N Roll, which opened earlier this month, as well as Caribbean restaurant Zeen Cuisine, which opens on September 7.

John Grinnell, center manager at The Dolphin, said: “We are delighted to have found another local business to add to the diverse cuisine offering of The Dolphin Street Food.

“We expect Loco Lime to fit right in as recent feedback from a social media poll told us that Poole locals would really enjoy having quality Mexican cuisine available in the area.”

Greg Westover, head of retail and leisure at LGIM, said: “LGIM strives to enable local businesses to thrive, as demonstrated by our continued investment in transforming The Dolphin Poole into a diverse destination with the community at its heart.

“The arrival of Loco Lime will only enhance the customer experience at The Dolphin, while also providing a Bournemouth-based start-up with an exciting opportunity to expand.”

Arun Kapila-Husband, co-founder of Loco Lime, said: “Our customers can look forward to a mouth-watering selection of slow-cooked beef brisket and short rib, braised chipotle chicken and pan-fried portobello mushrooms, all served in our signature birria tacos, filled burritos and healthy rice bowls.

“We’ll also be offering a tantalizing selection of Mexican-inspired sides, fresh smoothies and, of course, Corona with a twist of Loco Lime. Additionally, we’re excited to introduce a rotating menu of monthly specials that will allow us to bring new flavors and experiences for our guests regularly.

“As recent graduates who have lived and studied in the local area, we feel a strong connection to the local community and are keen to give back.

“Being part of The Dolphin is a perfect opportunity to do just that. Having already established our Poole takeaway kitchen as one of the highest rated in the region, the expansion into in-store dining allows us to engage more directly with our valued customers.

“The larger kitchen space also gives us the creative freedom to introduce new and exciting menu items that stay true to our passion as chefs first and businessmen second.”

Loco Lime is moving into Unit 92 on the first floor of The Dolphin, next to Foundry Poole.
